Currently a lot of activities goes behind the scenes to take profit of the giant non-monetary wealth, created in the wiki communities. If the wikizen don't wake up and don't take reponsibilities for themselves, we might see soon trademarks like WikiCommonWealth, created and used by people, not necessarily engaged in intrinsic wiki contributions themselves. Hopefully the author is in error, supposing this. Or what would be even worse, there might be domains registered by wikizen, who have not found the nurturing open wikis, where they can CreateAndShareWealth, straight from the beginning and not by speculations and just "sitting it out". Another pitfall in the view of the author would be the initiation of StayPoor wikis, where only ideas of a Social Common Wealth are discussed, but where the wikizens themselves are only playing the role of zero cost workers.

If you search for Google:CommonWealth and Google:Wiki you get an exorbitant list of hits. Therefore some algorithm might have registered the domain: Google:WikiCommonWealth, because it is on the crossroads, where business promises to prosper. Pursuing the vision of a SocialCommonWealth, the author now registered WikiCommonWealth.info and *.biz to save, what can be be saved for wikizen, who want to collaborate in an Google:OpenBusinessWiki and not as invisible speculators.

Discussion The author puts this contribution in his blog, where additional cues can be found, to invite peers, to join the movement. -- [fridemar]

Meatball Wiki: TeacherTube

Meatball Wiki: TeacherTube

MeatballWiki | RecentChanges | Random Page | Indices | Categories

[TeacherTube] is a video-based, open and free-of-charge community, similar to YouTube. It was launched on March 6, 2007. Their goal is to provide an online community for sharing instructional videos. It is targeted at teachers, schools, and home learners. Teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill. But it also claims professional development with teachers teaching teachers.

It was Jason Smith, a 14-year veteran educator who initiated TeacherTube, earlier qualified as a teacher, coach, campus administrator and district administrator in public schools. He is heavily engaged to utilize the power of the read/write web for learning together with his younger brother Adam, who is a digital native, with technical skills. Jason's wife, Jodie, joined the team to start populating the site with videos and helped improve the communication. She too has 14 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, campus technology integrator, and district curriculum coordinator.

With TeacherTube, community members can:

  • Upload, tag and share and browse community videos
    • Support Files to attach educational Actvities, Assessments, Lesson Plans, Notes, and Other file formats
  • Find, join and create video groups to connect with like-minded people
  • Customize the experience by subscribing to member videos, saving favorites, and creating playlists.
  • Integrate TeacherTube videos on websites using video embeds or APIs.
  • Make videos public or private - users can elect to broadcast their videos publicly or share them privately with those they invite.

Members are encouraged to not only upload educationally relevant videos, but also to make constructive comments and use the rating system to show appreciation for videos of value.

A lot of videos come as machinima from SecondLife.

Their site is free of charge, based on some advertising.

This intro is extracted from their [About] and their [Blog]. The author thanks Cathy Arreguin, who gave this link in SLED, the public mailing list for Educators, engaged in SecondLife. -- FridemarPache

Discussion This is an excellent platform for wikizens, to launch their own videos on knowledge, created in the wiki-community. Each wiki can embed the videos by way of DiiGo and TrailFire annotations. -- [fridemar]

Odd Wiki SocialSynergy: OpenBusiness

Odd Wiki SocialSynergy: OpenBusiness

Hi Sam and peers, the author just initiated a FireTrail in wiki-mode, named OpenBusinessWiki. Here we can insert our social annotations and bookmarks. It is an excellent tool, to establish StrongLinks with all peers, creating and sharing wealth as OpenBusiness, based on peer activity within the wiki-infrastructure. – fridemar

Odd Wiki SocialSynergy: OpenBusiness

Odd Wiki SocialSynergy: OpenBusiness

open business

If you are not already familiar with Open Business.cc, it’s an open knowlege commons worth looking at and participating in.

The basic core concepts of Open Business can be found under the idea section:

“Open business is designed to help the little guy along on his journey to spread his idea while creating revenues in the process. In order to sustain a rich innovative global community, access to information and ideas is requisite. The goal of open business is to analyze and explain models by which people can share their knowledge and creativity with others guided by the aligned incentives of profit, individual success, and societal advancement. The operating ethic transcends zero sum capitalism to create opportunities of mutual gain for the individual and her subscribers alike. By granting increased levels of access to information, innovators; be they writers, musicians, computer programmers, journalists, or any form of consultant under the sun, can reap the benefits of advertising their product in a way that is infinitely more pure and true than any thirty second television spot: by allowing the genius of their creativity to sell itself to the customer through use.”

The site also hosts a wiki for co creating a manual of Open Business.

Openbusiness.cc sent out an email today announcing their first in a series of published reports investigating sustainable Open Publishing concepts. This first report looks at how Open Publishing concepts help people maximize dwindling resources. The next report “will cover OpenBusiness strategies more broadly covering sectors ranging from music, video to services.” -SamRose

Hi Sam, hi Mattis and all the other peers here in the SocialSynergy Wiki, who are interested to practise within a wiki an OpenBusiness. Is this the right place to demonstrate and practise, how revenue in the community can be generated, amplified, shared? Or is this wiki more focussed on the theoretical discussion, in which case please point the author and likeminded peers to a well established wiki, ready for realizing new entrepreneurial ideas. The author tags, annotates, and blogs this question and any other contributions on fridemar's blog, where you can find more cues. He asks you at the same time, if you allow WikiBlogging of whole pages for authors on their individual blogs, if the author has only contributed a subset of one page. (compatible with “Under CC’s Some rights reserved). This would be a great timesaver. Thank you. – FridemarPache

Fridemar, sure, this wiki is fine for presenting those ideas, or even working on real world applications, etc. Go ahead and post that here, if you choose to do so. – SamRose

Thank you Sam, so the next step is to publish this page on fridemar's blog, as true WikiBlogging, inviting all other peers to do the same on their own blogs. Each peer can add their own ViewPoint. We two had the same idea on this mighty tool to amplify social oriented creativity, productivity and at last wealth for all interacting peers on each page. From time to time each peer can remove their older versions of wiki blogged pages from their blog to make this procedure more effective. Now each wiki page gets a watchlist for actual and potential webpages, that are connected via StrongLinks, friendly, constructive, attractive, and such content, that allows growth for CreatingAndSharingWealth. We call this for short a WatchList, which is at the same time a WikiPragma. The WatchList is a generalization of TwinPages. To let participate as many as possible peers, the author suggests the style of a SlideWiki. Don’t be shocked, that in this WatchList actually wealth is created, in a transparent and social way. Instead of blindly fighting WikiSpam we recognize, that we live in an AttentionEconomy?, where the wikizen themselves can care for and enjoy the fruits of their work. At the same time the PageMaintainerProblem? is solved, when each wikizen takes the responsability to make those pages, where they are involved mostly. Now comes the salient point: It would be dull, if each peer only cared for their “own” pages. If a peer contributes to another peer’s page in a friendly and constructive way, then their work is much more valuable, as only sticking to the pages, coupled to their own registered domains. Example: the author forwards appropriately registered domain-names on this page, by putting them on the WatchList. When selling the attached Url on the domain market to a buyer, then it is suggested that the Communitywiki:WikiBank? earns, say 10% for their escrow-service to handle this and similar transactions. As this could be at the same time a wikizen’s pledge as in my prototyping approach, this makes the WikiBank? very attractive for zillions of active wiki contributors. Please feel free to insert the correct links with the right WikiPrefixes and or split this contribution onto several wiki pages, inserting your enrichment, blogging it on your blog. – fridemar

PS.: For the watchlist it takes about two hours to redirect the page synergistic Urls to here.

SocialCommonWealth

[Home]SocialCommonWealth

MeatballWiki | RecentChanges | Random Page | Indices | Categories

The author just made a pledge of possible 300,000 USD for the founding of the [CommunityWiki:WikiBank]. He offers a percentage of the sale of the top domains

and other domains.

The idea is quite simple, verifiable and realistic.

Considering the economic potential that is in the worldwide wiki meme (see CreatingAndSharingWealth), combined with the other mainstream meme towards an open writable, participative, collaboration oriented social Web 2.0, we can easily achieve it. It needs only some growing awareness.

First of all we must get rid of the StayPoor meme, that appears to the author still dominant in most online-communities.

Then we must make the same risks and chances available and attractive to each other, creating a spirit of courageous entrepreneurship in the best sense.

And at last we must mutually amplify our creativity, resources and energies, we put in this project.

The author was thinking about a good domain-name for this venture and he believed to have found it:

 WikiCommonWealth?

Unfortunately some clever peer just had bought it some days ago. He or she has not yet made a homepage of it. Perhaps they will have it only for speculation, not developing any ideas of it in public.

So the author had to think about this handicap and found an even more embracing domain-name SocialCommonWealth. This top domain name promises to be the culminating point of Social Bookmarking, Social Annotation, Social Collaboration.

So he bought this gem, just some minutes ago on 2007/05/21. (By the way, some years ago he recommended in WardsWiki as entrepreneurial idea to buy the domain "Wiki". But this went unnoticed. Some peers might remember "these were the days of fridemar" in WardsWiki.

Everyone has now the chance to invest in SocialCommmonWealth?.eu, SocialCommonWealth.us, and so on ... even some WikiCommonWealth? domains are still free.

All these domains are very valuable and can be developed in all WealthEnabled? wikis. DomainsWiki could be such a Wiki for wiki entrenpreneurs. But the author happily contributes and collaborates with any other wiki that are not doomed by the StayPoor meme.

Instead of Url-Forwarding this TLD (top level domain) into his own DomainsWiki he points it to this page, where the idea was presented the first time.
